Electric Cigarette Effective Enough To Quit Tobacco Smoking

No matter what you call them, electronic cig, e-cigarettes, personal nicotine vaporizers, electric cigarettes, they are creating quite a stir amongst both smokers and medical professionals. On one side, we have those who’ve stopped and quit tobacco smoking because of these devices. These smoking converts love e-cigarettes and extol nothing but good things about them.
I mean, let’s face it. It is the one thing that has enabled them to quit that nasty disgusting habit of smoking regular cigarettes. On the other hand, we have the medical professionals that are very worried about the ramifications of this new kid on the block. With a new technology comes a new set of possible health related issues.
E-cigarettes have interchangeable cartridges that enable them to change the level of nicotine in them. For example, one nicotine cartridges may contain very little nicotine. This is perfect for the smoker that is at the end of his weaning off process.
There are also cartridges that have nicotine strengths levels that are off the charts. These would benefit the newly converted electronic cig smoker. The beauty of these new devices is that they only contain nicotine. A regular cigarette is chock full of other chemicals that are extremely harmful to us.
Electric cigarettes serve a sort of dual purpose in getting smokers to quit. Firstly they help smokers kick the nicotine habit. Secondly, they serve the physical dependency that smokers develop.
If you talk to smokers, they’ll tell you that it’s not the nicotine that they can’t live without, it’s the act of holding the cigarette that they can’t quit. While the jury is still out on how well an electronic cig can help you quit smoking, and we don’t know the long term effects of inhaling the vaporized nicotine, it is safe to say that given the side effects of smoking, it’s worth trying an alternative.
